Nature Photography Contest Winners |
The Friends of Lake Griffin State Park, along with Lake Griffin State Park, sponsored a Nature Photography Contest between October 1, and December 20, 2024. The pictures were judged by FLGSP and LGSP personnel. The first place winner received a prize of $200.00 which was given by an anonymous donor for the contest. Thanks to that person for their interest in photograph and nature. In addition to the winner, two contestants received Honorable Mention. Thanks to all that visited LGSP and submitted photographs. Stacy Lee's picture picture below received first place in the category of "Plants." | Stacy Lee is from Selden, NY, and won first place in the Nature Photography Contest. While visiting in November, Stacy and her sister took their mother to Lake Griffin State Park to see the famous Oak Tree. When entering the park, she found out about the photo contest. She said that winning this prize made her whole day!! Stacy and her husband have 2 children and three dogs. She loves photography, has her own business, helps with a non-profit organization, and is scoutmaster for a girl’s troop in Boy Scouts. Stacy says: “I will always visit Lake Griffin State Park when I head down south as its energy is unmatched. It’s marked as one of my happy places forever!” |
Honorable Mention Steve and Rhonda Policastro live in Wildwood, FL They both took photos in the contest and each one had a picture that won honorable mention. They said they enjoy hanging out with the wildlife and the wilderness in the park. They say the park has brought them much enjoyment and thank us for making the park a safe place to visit. |
